Shades of empire is fantasy flight games first product release for WFRP, in which they have taken great effort and care to bring a well constructed tool for any GM who is setting there campaign in the empire. Featuring nine organisations from the Altdorf Dockers to Road wardens, you will find something of interest and use no matter what style or campaign your running. Heavily background based there are some new careers and even details on hedge magic to satisfy those like me who are always looking for more depth to your games.

I was overall highly impressed with this product and would recommend it to others.

Very useful for ideas - possibly not an essential book for the imaginative GM. But if you are looking for fluff, then it has that in aplenty. There are couple of truly useful chapters covering Altdorf gangs, Morrite hunters and Hedge Magic that definitely make the purchase more than worth it, but other chapters whilst interesting maybe needed a bit more thought.
