Handy if you haven't seen it before3
It's always the way with Warhammer Roleplay - every new supplement seeks to add new careers to the canon. As a result, this book is a pleasent addition, compiling well-over 200 careers in one place.

The career entries themselves are very good, each one has an entire page dedicated to it, including some plot hooks. This space also allows a greater degree of background than, say, the core book was able to offer.

The careers come from a variety of previous published material including the supplements for Bretonians, Dwarfs, Tome of Corruption and Kislev. There are also 8 brand new careers included (see what I mean?)

A huge bonus of this book is that by including all the careers in one place they can now be linked together and the authors have taken full advantage of this fact, creating brand new starting career charts and giving new logical career entries and exits.

The downside, however, is pretty obvious. Almost all the material printed here is taken from other works. If you already own the entire WFRP back catalogue then there is little new stuff here to interest you (unless you're a completest) but for those who tend to pick and chose then this Compendium is excellent.

Another problem is that it only reprints the careers, not the rules that go with them, so career paths such as the Runesmith or Ice Witch will be useless unless you also purchase the relevent tome.

And, as with most roleplay books, it could have benefitted with a more thorough proof-reading before publishing as some of the career entry/exit lists differ.

Great, Not Perfect But Great5
This is an excellent and very useful book for both GM's and PC's in the WFRP line.

As far as I can determine, this wonderful tome holds all the character options from all of the supplement books released by both Black Industries and Fantasy Flight Games. There are, as always in FFG books, some typos and I hope later editions correct these often blatantly obvious mistakes.

However, it is a wonderful and useful book with short ideas and plot hooks to use interesting characters as both NPC's and PC's in your adventures...

May Sigmar go with you...
