Customer Reviews

The Only Hardcore Album of Present Worth Owning5
In a time when Hardcore is now associated with stupid adverts with an MC yelling "this is the true, ultimate, unbeatable sound of crazy, off the rails hardcore", chipmonk lady vocals plastered over fluffy synthy supersaws, the commercialim of Ultrabeat and Cascada making diluted Hardcore to appeal to masses......and of course Chavs..... it is refreshing to hear that all is not lost.

Hardcore Nation manages to mix a perfect blend of trancy anthemic hardcore like Dougal & Gammers remix of "Whats Up" and Seduction & Storms "Make the Track Spin" with some good old Classic Hardcore such as Visa's "Fly Away" and Force & Styles "Pretty Green Eyes" on Sedution and Stu Allens mixes before completely tearing it completely apart with Robbie Longs Mix of hard, tearing and downright "how is it possible to make a sound like that?".

I will admit now that im not a massive Hardcore follower and so normally a hardcore mix will not be able to hold my attention for it full length but my God Robbie Long Mix did. There is a wonderful progression from the more "laid back" begining melting into a rather ammusing "X-Rated" and Anthemic "24/7" before you are ripped apart with a pounding, "never-letting-up even for a second" madness of tracks like "All You B*******s" and "Imsomniak" before it all comes to an end with Xavi Metralla's "Vibrations" that ends the mix by just letting everything "go" completely and you wanting more.....yeah, i know....normally after an hour and a bit of hardcore you need a rest but no, Robbie leaves you wanting more.

All in all this is a great album where the anthemic, happy, "hands in the air" stuff is there but not over-used to the point of boring you and making you want to be sick its so sweet while all along there is Mr Longs mix there at the back just waiting to release its power on the world.

So Chavs.....you keep your Cascada and Ultrabeat and Chipmonk vocaled commercial hardcore because this is real underground hardcore and its not for you.
