A Masterpiece
This album is heavy as hell. Experimental rock doesn't get any better than this. They even do disco with 'Disco Queen' that has touches of the 'scissor sisters' believe it or not but it's done skilfully and with fun, much better too. There is so much variety to this great album it takes a few listens to get into it all, because of this it's difficult to compare to any other band but if you like 'Opeth' or 'Porcupine Tree' you should love this.
I didn't believe they could better 'Be' or 'Remedy Lane' but they have and how. This is one of the best Heavy Rock albums i've heard, after thirty years of collecting music believe me thats saying something. I'm a big fan of 'King Crimson' but over the last few years 'Porcupine Tree','The Tangent' and POS have been giving them a run for their money but not any more. POS have now clearly left the others behind, this band for me are by far the best Heavy Progressive Rock band ever. PLEASE BUY THIS, this band deserve to be better known. For anybody that liked 'The Perfect Element,part one' by the way, this is 'part two'.
Great follow up to Be
With the exception of Spitfall and Cribcaged, this CD does take a few listens before you get into it, but isnt that the norm with PoS? However, Spitfall is brilliant, and Cribcaged will DEFINITELY turn into a PoS classic - fantastic. It is so hard to follow up BE, which in my view, is one of the best recordings of all time. I would be lying if I though SCARSICK was as good, but it is not far behind it, and still worthy of 5 stars. Cribcaged alone is worth the money.
Masterpiece
This is definitely a masterpiece. I'm a big fan of this band and this has to be one of the best.
Who else could sing "RAP like" to denounce RAP singers "Guess what we need is yet another clown who can feed our breed with another look and hooker hook"
Cribcaged - superb lyrics which lays into the celebrity culture and for good old rock music at its peak hows about Mrs. Modern Mother Mary.
But you've got to be warned some of these tracks are challenging and won't suit everyones pallet first time round but if you persist!!!
