How can you own a car without owning a Haynes Manual?
When I bought my V Plate '99 Rover Mini Cooper a year ago, the Haynes manual for Minis only covered up to '96 (P Reg) and therefore missed a lot of the detail about the later cars.
The revised 2002 version rectifies that problem and adds many extra sections on the post 1996 cars. Of particular note are the wiring diagrams for the later models, as they are presented in a much clearer format than before.
I can't think of any reasons why the owner of any car should not have the corresponding Haynes Manual. Updating the Mini manual to cover the last models of this great little car has made this book invaluable for any mini owner.

Mini manual
This manual is excellent if you wish to try & do any type of repair/maintenance work on an older style Mini. Details & pictures very helpful.
NHS for cars(National Haynes Service-groaann!)
We got a late version of the Mini Cooper pre-BMW, a car I thought I would be able to work at. Wrong!!! There are however still loads of things I can now do thanks to this insightful and easy to follow book.
For instance I was just leaving the local power washing area when I spotted a bit of a car lying where I had just washed the Mini. It looked like part of the suspension bracket. A wave of fear swept over me. Was the car safe to drive? Was a fortune just about to be spent on repairs? Had I bought a dud motor?
I got home and consulted the Haynes, jacked the car up and was able to figure out to 99.5% confidence that the part was not missing from my car. I eventually posted the part to a Mini expert who stated that the part was most definitely not of any type of Mini he had ever seen over the last 40 years.
So, apart from major engine surgery, I reckon I could do a fair amount of the jobs that this car might need thanks to the Haynes book. The tee shirt of the Haynes Mini also looks great(available elsewhere).
