Manufacturer's Description
The BDPS1E incorporates a wide range of sophisticated features that deliver a True Cinema Experience, like no other. 1080/24p output allows the viewer to enjoy movie playback as never before, by reproducing the movie exactly as it was shot in 24 frames per second.

Where previously, the film has been manipulated & compressed to conform to 50p output to match the conventional PAL 50Hz for European TV sets, from 2007 it can be enjoyed in stunning High definition on a Sony BRAVIA - exactly as the filmaker intended.

To further enhance the Tru Cinema experience , you can select from 3 cinema-tuned picture modes which have been developed in collaboration with sony Pictures Entertainment, allowing you to choose the perfect set up for your home enviroment.

The BDPS1E is also the ideal choice for the budding filmmakers, as it is one of the first BD players on the market able to playback the High definition format, AVCHD, which is the result of using an HD Camcorder which burns content straight to DVD. So you can go straight from set to cinema in a matter of seconds.

    Fantastic bar the firmware update4
This Blu ray player from Sony has to rank as one of the best currently on the market. The build quality is superb, feel much more solid than the Sony S300. The picture quality on a full HD 1080p TV is up there with the Pioneer BDP-LX70 which is double the cost, colours are rich, deep and detailed whilst animation is mind blowing! I have personally had all the above machines linked up to my system and am more than happy with this machine. This is the only Sony Blu ray player currently to have achieved a 5 star rating in What HIFI and DVD Magazine, that includes the S300. The only drawback is the firmware update which requires a download from the Sony website which is difficult to find and not the easiest to update. This is the main gripe with the machine which stops it from getting the full 5 stars.

    Sony BDPS1E Blu-Ray3
The picture quality is superb full HD 1080p, colours are very good. Lots of options to find the one suit you. Good solid built. However, I have 2 major problem with this product 1:- extremely slow to boot and get going 2:-extremely difficult to upgrade let alone to find the upgrade files on Sony website. It is a challenge to update the product. There are alternative products in the market same quality and futures but less costly. I cannot justify the monies paid to this product. Mine is on sale as second-hand.
