Animal Aromatherapy for Beginners
Excellent beginners manual for people who want to help their animals using natural products. Good basic blends for various conditions for domestic animals such as dogs, cats and horses. Easy to follow instructions and some good case histories for reference
Holistic Aromatherapy for animals
This book is good for reference and adding to your own expertise. There is a lot of experience contained within the pages of this well presented book. The only downside is that sometimes he does not inform the reader of the frequency of use or dosage to be applied. Other than that I have tried out several of his recipes and found them extremely benefical to the animals treated.
I could have poisoned my cat but for this book....
I've used aromatherapy oils for many years, always assuming that 'natural' is good for me, my home and my cats. I decided to buy this book to help me to help the cats, as they both live outdoor lives and often get minor bites and scratches, and the odd tick and flea.Imagine my shock to learn that tea tree oil, a standard treatment for any skin disorder for people, is severely toxic to felines. I shall be eternally grateful that I bought and read this book before going ahead and treating either of the cats. The book does explain what can be safely used, which earns it a permanent place on my bookshelf.
It also explains exactly how and with what to treat many other creatures, including dogs, horses, rabbits and other small cage animals, birds, even fish and farm livestock. The intention is not to try to 'cure' animals, because if ill, they still need expert vetinarian treatment. Rather the book is for ordinary people who love the creatures who share their lives. It is an inexpensive easy-to-read guide on how to make life more enjoyable for our companion animals.
