Amazon.co.uk Review
Sugar sensitivity is not a syndrome that many of us would commonly consider having, but in fact it could be the cause of our everyday feelings. For example, one day we may feel confident while other times we may feel this confidence has slipped away--but for no apparent reason. The answer to these unexplained feelings could be that you are sugar sensitive. The author defines sugar sensitivity as "the body chemistry responding to sugars and certain carbohydrates differently than the next person." She continues: "This biochemical difference can have a huge effect on our moods and behaviour--how you feel is linked to what you eat and when you eat it." Potatoes not Prozac: a Natural Seven-Day Plan to Control Depression, Food Cravings and Weight Gain will help you discover whether you are sugar sensitive and if you are it provides a step-by-step dietary plan to maintain your blood sugar levels. Being sugar sensitive can also be another reason why you cannot lose weight or fight depression, according to DesMaisons. This book is fascinating as the author brings in her own experiences. It is an easy guide, providing background on the ups and downs of your blood sugar, and includes a user-friendly and detailed questionnaire for readers to discover whether they suffer from this treatable syndrome. The book then takes the reader through the first steps on the road to maintaining a suitable blood-sugar level and shows ways to keep on the right track and live a healthy and balanced lifestyle. This book shows that healthy living is all about simple changes which can make big differences in the way we feel about ourselves. Those wishing to read further around the effects of food on the body could also consider Dr John Briffa's Food for Health. --Louise Coyle

Synopsis
For many who suffer mood swings or depression, or who frequently feel bloated or exhausted, the problem lies with their body chemistry. The author offers a nutritional plan designed to maintain the correct balance between seratonin, beta-endorphin and blood sugar.

SAME OLD1
Another opportunist. The remarkable thing about Miss DesMaisons is that she also writes about her way as being the last diet yet she is very obese and claims it's because she's insulin resistant. There is ample science of her own in ways to get around it....clearly she does not walk her talk.

With each and every diet book there are just as many people who 'swear' by their particular vehicle in order to lose weight.

I would not recommend this to anyone.

The only book that worked for me5
I bought this book two years ago. At a rough estimate it was the 40th diet/health book I had purchased and proved to be almost the last (I bought her other two as well).

Over two years, with the help of KD's unique free online support network, I have regained my health, my waistline, regular sleep patterns and am free of a painful skin problem. This is the longest, by 21 months, I have ever stuck to anything and it is remarkably easy to maintain once you grasp the basics. I only wish more diet organizations, nutritionists, doctors and health professionals could understand the power of sugar addiction as I truly believe that a lot of the problems in society could be resolved at a very basic level.

I can't recommend it highly enough and if it hasn't saved my life it has enhanced and almost certainly prolonged it.

This is how I recovered from a dibilitating mood disorder call depression5
Thanks to Kathleen Des maisons for her excellant work on addicitve nutrition, this combined with EPA omega 3 is how I recovered from an impossible recurring health condition called depression.
