Sack the editor2
Although the book is good from the point of eating healthily, there are soooo many mistakes. You are given shopping lists for that weeks meals which misses items and over estimates! Descriptions are incorrect, eg one dinner of chunky veg soup (in the title) was actually instructed to use the tomato and rosemary from the previous day. You also make a stew which you have 2 tablespoons of, but you make enough to feed a family of four. If you buy this book, ignore the shopping list and go through the recipes and construct you own list with the correct amounts.

NOTE: it is stated on the back of the book that it is an amalgamation of the previous titles from the author.

Its a compilation3
The good points about this book are that it is really good value if you haven't already bought any of his books and it is a great diet. It is basically four of his previous books in one. They are:

-The Food Doctor Diet (introduces "the rules" and includes an excellent 7 day kickstart diet)

-The Food Doctor Everyday Diet (I have so many favourite recipes from this book. Really tasty even if you're not on a diet)

-The Food Doctor Everyday Diet Cookbook (more new recipes)

-The Food Doctor Diet Club (a 30 day diet plan. Good if you like your meals planned out for you. I personally wasn't a fan of this one.)

All these books have really good reviews and I have bought them all - which is the problem...

The bad points: IT DOESN'T TELL YOU THAT IT IS BASICALLY A COMPILATION OF THE PREVIOUS FOUR BOOKS.
They really should have made that clear in the title (e.g Best of the Food Doctor Diet; Food Doctor Compilation) or on the cover so that fans of the author didn't feel like they'd been conned. It would easily have deserved 5 stars if this was done.

It is a good diet and they are lovely recipes for dieters or non-dieters, but it only gets 3 stars because the content wasn't clear.

First foray4
This is our first foray into "Food Doctor" world and both my husband and myself have really enjoyed our first few weeks on this plan. We have both lost weight easily and without feeling hungry. Meals have been tasty and interesting. Feels like a 5 star plan - but only gave 4 because this is definately time consuming and the shopping lists led us to buy for the store cupboard - and the week only to find food going off before we got to that recipe! Much more organised now we are on our second -go-round of the 30 day plan and not at all bored.
