it's changed my life & how i think about food forever !
my favourite foods used to be pasta and cheese, i would regularly go to the fridge, get out a block of cheese and stand there slicing pieces off it and eating them..kidding myself that it was good protein and calcium....
i was over 10.5 stone and VERY unhappy with my weight...I was always tired, lethargic and ill and couldn't motivate myself to go to the gym.
after reading marisa's book i instantly noticed a change in the way i feel about food...cheese and pasta no longer seemed appealing, they even repulsed me a little. the same with cakes and chemical-laden processed foods.
i occasionally have chocolate or a packet of crisps or an ice lolly, but i no longer crave them and when i do, that craving easily passes, it's almost as if my subconcious mind blocks it with the thought of being slim and staying slim.
2 months on and i eat no pasta, cheese, wheat or gluten 90% of the time and i also eat very little dairy compared to what my diet used to be like.
i'm a stone lighter - i now way 9.5 stone ! and as i have more energy i am excersizing more too and toning up.
this book is based on hypnotism and suggestion, i think i would have dropped a stone even faster than i have done if i was able to listen to the hypnotism CD that comes with the book every night aswell...(my boyfriend lost my ipod headphones!)
the only critism i would have is that although i knew what i shouldn't be eating i wasn't 100% sure what sort of food i SHOULD be eating....maybe some recipes and meal suggestions at the end of the book would have been useful. she does give you some idea but it's quite vague...i suppose that is to give you the impression that she's not telling you what to eat, you are CHOOSING what to eat, so you don't feel restricted. And also to set it apart from a 'diet'.
This is not a diet - it's a lifestyle change. It will make you a healthier eater for life !

The title of my review really sums up this book's message - that by changing your attitude towards food, you can stop overeating and lose weight.
Most people know what they 'should' be eating, but find themselves craving and eating the foods that tend to be 'forbidden' or restricted, on most diets.
Marisa points out that we all came into the world knowing what, how, and when to eat, to suit our individual needs. However, years of associating food with comfort and reward and following restrictive diets, have led to many of us eating for emotional reasons, rather than hunger -especially 'comfort' foods like cakes, biscuits and crisps.
This book shows you how to have a normal relationship with food and allow yourself to eat what you want - it's surprising how, when a food is no longer forbidden, you no longer crave it!
Well worth buying if you want to lose weight and keep it off - especially if you're caught up in the diet-binge cycle.

The best book I've ever read!!!!
I bought this book last week and read it within two days. It is absolutely amazing the effect that this book has had on my attitude to food and my confidence levels! I know it sounds corny but I really do feel like a new person already!
I've tried every diet on the planet over about a fifteen year span and my weight kept creeping up to almost 13 stone, every diet and exercise plan didn't seem to work and the pounds would shift very slowly. I could never understand why and so I kept looking for some answers - I think I've finally found them!!!!
I was worried about cutting down on wheat and dairy as probably 95% of my diet consisted of these two areas but, after reading the book and listening to the CD, I stopped eating them straight away. Over the last six days my attitude towards the food I'm eating has changed dramatically and I'm now eating loads of fruits, veg, nuts and seeds along with lean proteins. I NEVER thought I would ever get to this way of eating - I always avoided fruit as I thought it was boring but I love it now. I'm not fussed about chocolate, biscuits, cakes, bread, pasta, cheese and I'm finding good and healthy alternatives for them - this really amazes me.
I don't want to sound too much of a goody goody but the CD really reprogramms your thinking for the better and the book explains what wheat, dairy and junk food actually does to your insides. It isn't a book that states you must follow this program or else, Marisa explains about making choices in life and you end up really wanting to choose better foods for your body.
I haven't weighed myself yet (6 days into it) but I do intend to and I will put an update on here when I have. My clothes are feeling much looser already, I stopped feeling bloated on the first day, my skin and eyes look clearer and brighter and I feel fantastic!!!
Please, if you do only one thing for yourself, buy this book and you'll never look back!!!
