A considerable corpus of experience has been accumulated concerning Kombucha tea. Especially in Asiatic lands and in Russia, Kombucha tea has been used for hundreds of years with good results as a natural remedy. Besides its use as a refreshing beverage, nearly every article also mentions its medicinal value. Innumerable illnesses are cited for which Kombucha tea is used and extolled. Customer Reviews
Excellent if you already brew Kombucha.
This was not the first book on Kombucha, which I have read, but the third. I must say that it is an excellent in depth look at this amazing drink. I would not recommend this as your introduction to Kombucha as it may appear to be quite technical and scientific. If, on the other hand you are already brewing Kombucha and want to understand more about it and the processes that are happening in your brewing jar then this is a must read. Once you have started brewing Kombucha, many people want to experiment a little with recipies. Gunther's knowledge and research material really is useful to give you ideas and guideline to work within.
Much of the material on the Internet and some from other books originate from this book so, I would advise you to read the original information. Gunter is one of the leading researchers on Kombucha, so you know that you are getting top class information.
In this book he does not simply state 'this is the way it is' but rather, he explains why things happen and gives useful parameters for you to work within and to exercise your own discretion.
All in all I found this book to be very informative and a useful addition to my collection. I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking more than basic information on Kombucha.
