Synopsis
Beneath the neon lights of Las Vegas, the Clark County CSI night shift is hard at work, ridding the city of its criminal elements. With cutting-edge technology at its disposal, the forensic team tackles the often grisly crimes of a glamorous city whose constant influx of visitors has turned it into a criminal playground.
Customer Reviews
A brilliant season but a little over-priced
C.S.I: Las Vegas is a show that has been running for 9 years now and has never dropped in quality and Season 8 is no exception.
Part 2 opens with a very dramatic episode which sees Warwick Brown involved with local mobsters - a story that continues throughout the remainder of the season. Also in these episodes, a comedy star is murdered (in an episode written by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn who write Two and a Half Men - with appearances from the lead three); a man is burnt to death after being hit with pepper spray and then stunned; a cowboy is supposedly trampled to death by a bull; and not to mention the truly shocking season finale!
Although the episodes in season 8 really are great, due to the writer's strike the season was much shorter than usual with only 17 episodes in total, so it may be worth waiting a while to buy this as £25 for just 9 episodes does seem a tad expensive.
Overall if you're a fan of CSI there's no doubt that you're going to love this season as it really is brilliant. I've recently been watching Season 9 and it is still as strong as ever so it looks like this excellent show isn't going to slow down anytime soon!
Great series, consistently good quality.
It's amazing how good the quality of this series is still at season 8. The authors manage to always find new themes, twists and just the right measure of humour.
We follow our favourite characters as their lives unfold, they encounter new friends and enemies, and their relationships become more complex. And of course there's a major cliffhanger, which has become a thrilling tradition in this series.
The only downside (and the reason for one less star) is that each DVD comes with a car commercial before the menu, which can't be easily skipped. In addition to the notorious "don't copy" intro commercial. IMHO, this is an insult to the people who buy DVDs for good money so they can skip commercials on TV and enjoy good quality. If the customer paid for the DVD, she/he shouldn't be burdened by yet another commercial, especially when it's the same over and over again.
CSI Season 8 Part 2
this is as all other CSIs full of who how and all forensic know how.
William petersan at his best as usual and a final good bye to two originals Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan, what will the future hold for the rest of the team???
