Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Released in the mid-'90s in conjunction with a video of thesame name, AN ENCHANTED EVENING is a live recreation of most of Kitaro's 1994 guitar-heavy album, MANDALA. Sensitive renditions of "Silk Road" (Kitaro's most-record tune) and the sweeping "Heaven and Earth", from the soundtrack of Oliver Stone's film, round out the program.
The live ensemble (including a violinist, bassist, and didgeridoo player, in addition to Kitaro's keys, guitars and flutes) has the dynamic sense of a great jazz band, feeding off each other's inspiration and the excitement of the crowd. As always, the music shifts regularly from quiet, reflective passages to plosive thunder, usually within the same song, reminding us that there's no soft-volume requirement for spiritual music.

Incredible5
Many people think of Kitaro's music as music for meditation. However, it goes further than that. It's all about music from the heart and soul, and conveying the Earth, nature and the surrounding environment into the music. The music that he produces is really unique. 'An Enchanted Evening' has a compilation of some of his best work (this album was nominated for a Grammy!!!). Furthermore, many of the tracks on this CD are available on Kitaro's other albums. However, 'An Enchanted Evening' is recorded live, which gives it an extra special feel. For those who enjoy Kitaro's work, this CD is highly recommended. For those unfamiliar with Kitaro, this CD represents a great chance to get to know his work.
