Grimm Tales.
The best that can be said for this collection of Civil War plot lines is Ben Grimm in France, it is the most coherant and best art work of the FF collection.
Other than that it fails to address glaring plot holes and bad art work.
Reed Richards an ardant supporter of Tony Stark's plans goes on and on about heroes being held accountable for their actions, and yet after the Mad Thinker causes someones death all he really cares about is getting his math checked.
There is a 45th anniversery tale at the end, which could of been replaced by something worthwhile.
As i have said only The Thing in Paris makes this two stars otherwise unless you are a completist then give this a miss.
Its a tough one to call...
I have read a lot of the Civil war tie-ins and this is one, sadly, is one of the weaker ones, mainly because the story shifts from the action in America, to a more peaceful France when The Thing leaves for this Country. I think the main point I want to get across here is that if you want to find out more about the civil war from the point of the Fantastic Four, this is the place to do it, it's just in a very small quantity.
The beginning of the book is very good indeed. For the first two issues of the book you actually see the fallout between Sue and Reed and the repercussions it has on the rest of the team. However after this the story switches to The Thing and you see how he copes in France.
The writing of the comic is good which is very important to me, but sadly, the story just isn't strong enough for that fourth star. It's not a bad addition into the Civil War tie-in collection, its just not the best one there.
