Customer Reviews
Very Funny, Poignant and Essential Listening
Mark Thomas is able to make his subject matter entertaining and informative at the drop of a hat. There is so much to talk about in this 2 CD set that justice can't be done in a review like this.
Granted, the subject matter is a little bit old (but only a little), and the angry language often detracts from the message (his language makes Bill Hicks sound like Jackanory), but the listener cannot deny the sheer passion for the subject matter that pulses through every anecdote. He is on a mission to make a difference, and his subversive tactics are both ingenious and hilarious (make your house a place of worship and be exempt from Council Tax).
In a way this is an excellent companion for his book, As Used On The Famous Nelson Mandela, which seems to carry on from where this CD signs off, and once you have tuned out from the swearing, there is much to learn.
This is not for kiddies ears, but every grown up who worries about the future of their kids should listen to this CD.
Fantastic Stuff!
These double CD set contains some very witty and amusing humour. Mark Thomas manages to take serious topics and turn them into tales that make you laugh and think at the same time. He is truly talented and an inspiration to anyone who thinks that the subject of politics is 'boring'
I have to say the part about Mr Robinson made me chuckle a whole lot as he's my MP.
Brilliant!
I went to see Mark's show earlier this week, for the third time in the last few years. I have laughed out loud and been moved to tears every time. After the show this week he signed my copy of this CD while stopping to chat about the state of things, plans for the future etc.
He is totally genuine, impassioned and really making a difference through sheer determination. This CD will give you a very good idea of what you'll get live - a marvellous combination of hard fact and uproarious humour, sustained with fantastic energy and commitment and it will make you laugh!!! Buy it and go and see his live show too!
