not money well spent1
Pretty dissapointed with this one. Goes on for pages and pages yet says very little. In fact mostly it just hints at other books on the DSA's list making you feel just a little ripped off. Sure, there is some detail on what you need to know to complete your competancy skills and what they mean, but not how to acheive the standard described. In fact it's more like an overlong pamplet you may get out of a doctors, road safety fair etc. My advice is if you can borrow it or read in your local library it's worth a quick glimpse (which would get you through half the book) but if you really want to learn about even the basic driving skills go for the Essential driving skills book instead and save yourself some money.

The Official DSA Guide to Learning to Drive (Driving Skills)A good book for someone who is having driving lessons but not yet ready for the test this will give them a good idea, if someone is doing a intensive driving course, or a driving crash course this book is a must have. Many people do not pass their driving test because they are not ready. This book will help the learner and the person that pays for driving lessons by explaining the standard required for each key skill, which is examined within the driving test. The aim is to make sure that the learner is capable of driving safely and confidently, by them selves without someone telling them what to do
The book has clear pictures and diagrams, links with the rules to the correct page within the Highway Code. Useful also are the tips telling you what the examiner will be looking for on each subject within the test. So whether you are having a crash driving course or not this book is a must, just as useful if you are having automatic driving lessons, this book is similar to another book on the market but still very good in content, a great buy, have a great driving week.
