Product Description

This text provides full summaries of over 70 research studies in psychology. The summaries illustrate the major themes and the methodologies that psychologists use, and contain details of the major findings. The studies have been chosen to illustrate the major areas of psychology: social psychology, developmental psychology, biological psychology, cognitive psychology and the psychology of human diversity. It also contains a number of studies that illustrate the application of psychology in the areas of health and education. The second edition contains ten new studies and an additional chapter on methodology. This chapter gives readers an overview of the scientific method as it is used in psychology, and illustrates the various issues by extensive referencing to the studies that are summarized elsewhere in the book. Covering both classic and contemporary studies, "Introducing Psychological Research" should be of interest to all students and teachers of introductory psychology.

easy to read and perfect to introduce psychology5
An excellent introduction to Psychological studies. This easy to read, well written book contains all the major studies presented in an intellectial manner complete with diagrams and pictures. Contains all you need to know about each study and perfect for undergraduates.

A must-have book!5
This book is a must-have for any psychology student, or anyone who has an interest in psychology. It covers studies relating to all areas of the subject, which are presented in a clear, coherent manner. This book is set out really well, everything is easily accessible and is interesting to read, which makes a change from many books, in this one there's not a chance of getting bored with the way it's written. Another very helpful part of this book is that there are sample questions and suggested answers which help with understanding the studies. All in all an extremely worthwhile buy!

OCR Psychology in a nutshell...5
For any students studying OCR AS psychology this is a gem of a book. This book summarises all of the 20 core studies concisely in a readable style. As well as the 20 core studies, there are also other 'classic' studies in psychology which could come in use for coursework or second-year modules.

As if that wasn't enough, the chapter on methodology in this book is probably one of the best chapters on the topic that I have ever read.

Really this is the core text for OCR psychology; a fantastic book; but, what else would you expect from the gent who used to be the Chief Examiner for the course?
