A must for squatters!4
I too read this book many years ago. I liked it then and still like it now. It does have a 'folksy' writing style in parts but this does not detract from the excellent information on squat technique that is provided.

Strossen's 20 rep sets are the hardest workouts you'll find for legs and if you follow the plan in this book you'll get some great growth.

All in all an excellent bok with some novel information and approaches.

How much......?2
I read this book some fifteen years ago. I think I paid six pounds for it, it's in the loft somewhere. Anyway, it is very simple in design. After telling the Milo story and some chap who didn't eat for ages then put on twenty pounds overnight prior to a contest it goes on to say squat for 20 reps while putting 5 pounds on the rack each week. Throw in some other basic exercises and hey bingo, that's it. Quite how the price is twenty pounds is a mystery. It's only got a few pages.

Here's the whole book in 3 bullet points

- do only heavy compound lifts
- do a set of 20 squats as the core of your workout
- increase the squats 5lbs per workout, no excuses

I first did all that 15 years ago when I bought the book, and it's still righteous. It works because it's hard. Keep it simple.
