Product Description

If you thought Arnold Schwarzenegger put Graz, Austria on the bodybuilding map, how about Stuart McRobert and Nicosia, Cyprus? Imagine, one man, on a Mediterranean island no less, who has the audacity to directly challenge most contemporary bodybuilding advice. Instead of being another me-too bodybuilding book, Brawn is unique: its tone is serious, its manner evangelical, but most importantly, its focus is on things that actually work for the average trainee. "Drugs are evil and the scourge of bodybuilding," says McRobert, in effect "and forget about Mr O-type training -- it just won't work for most people. I'll tell you some things that do work". Brawn has most bodybuilding books beaten hands down in the depth department, but its biggest contribution just might be in breadth: Brawn introduces you to over 90 percent of the factors that will determine your ultimate success in the gym. A very useful book, which can help a lot of people to make tremendous bodybuilding progress.

Enjoyable and Informative4
First off, this is a very detailed book which takes you through many of the popular routines widely used by bodybuilders and tells you the theories on how and why each does or doesn't work. The author writes in an entertaining style which everyone can relate to, especially so- called 'hard- gainers', (those of us who find it hard to put on muscle, i.e. the majority) so many people can take heart from this book. However, this book is probably not a stand- alone book, beginners who want to learn the different exercises should probably use some other source to learn them properly. What this book does do though, is to describe (in detail) a number of popular exercises and the right way to perform them to avoid injury. It has to be mentioned that this book is a 'precursor' to a series of books also written by the author. Overall, this is a very good book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to bodybuild and understand the theories behind what they are doing.

BEST BOOK EVER5
this is the best book ever written on the subject of building muscle(from a tyipical trainee's point of view). I have bought loads of books on the suject over the years but have neaver felt strongly about any of them to write a review. I spent ages wondering if i should buy this book or weather it would just be a load of crap, but now that i have, i am extreamly pleased that i did. If you are in the same position as i was, take my word- BUY IT NOW, you will neaver need another book on how to build muscle. Don't waste your time and money reading books aimed at the drug-assisted genetically and gifted minority whos' tecniques and programmes will neaver work for the average person. Old Stu Mcrobo doesn't build you up with bulls**t promises that cannot be delivered like most other authors who write books on the subject- he tells it like it is and shows you how to achive it. The best book ever!!!

Very Good Overall4
This book is very useful for the beginning or moderately experienced bodybuilder. There is a great section on predicted size measurements for bodybuilders; how to calculate your potential arm size, thigh, calves etc. based on two methods, one using height and the other using wrist size (McCallum). If you're a beginner, this book will educate you. If you've been lifting for some time and encountered difficulties progressing, it will re-educate you. Would have given it five stars if the section on supplements was more detailed. Overall excellent buy.
