love it!
I bought this dvd 4 days ago whilst shopping and decided it looked like it was going to be the most fun out of all the fitness dvds. Having been intrigued by both the music and the girl's trim figures i gave it a go. So i started with the warm up, then the tone up, dancemix 1 and finished with the cool down.
The warm up and tone up were both easy to follow as the instructor is able to tell you what to do next whilst you are still doing the previous action, because the pump it up girls keep the pace by doing what you are doing and you get the instructions for the next thing in advance. Normally, there isn't enough people for that and you end up getting lost because the instructor goes straight into the next action (this is what i found especially with davina's workouts).
Tone up: I felt the burn in the right places, so I knew it was working, and I was encouraged to keep going by the music and the instructor. Dancemix 1: This is really girly and great at making you feel good. It was a bit tricky getting the routine right as the whole thing is fast paced to keep your heart pumping, therefore burning more calories, but after rewinding a few times i understood it. Learning a dance routine is fun, keeps you motivated and helps you lose weight. Since buying it i have worked out to it every day, addicted to the fantastic music and perfecting my dance moves.
Cool down: This starts off with some ab exercises which is well encorporated into the cool down as I don't feel i have to rush and actually end up feeling it more. The music choice suits this section of the dvd well and the stretches mean I don't feel stiff after the workout.
Overall I think it's great and I will be advancing to dancemix 2 now that I have perfected number 1. You can certainly understand why dancers are so fit and toned once you do this workout! The instructor does come across as majorly camp but to be honest any guy who is choreographing a dance for a mainly girl based audience is going to. After all he does have to sway his hips, flick his hair and pose in order to appeal to us. The fact that he isn't afraid to do it makes me feel I shouldn't be embarrassed and gives me more motivation.
At last - a workout that keeps me interested!
I already own the first MOS workout dvd and the one previous to this one, and although I thought they were effective, they weren't as dance based as I would have liked and therefore found myself getting bored with them.
This dvd is so much better!! The music is first class - if, like me, you are a fan of dance music and clubbing you couldn't fault this. The routines are so good, I like the fact that there are three different dance mixes, each getting more difficult so you can make the workout more of a challenge as you progress, eventually doing all 3 together for a mega workout.
I agree some of the routines are a bit hard to follow, however when you see the dancers doing the finished product it looks so good that I am determined to nail the dances eventually. I actually think this is a good things as it's something to work towards and you're so busy concentrating on getting the moves right that you forget you are exercising - bonus for me!
Yeah, the guy is camp but he's funny and keeps you motivated. LOVED IT!!
Fabulous!!
I love this dvd, i think if u like to dance and go clubbing then this is a great way to keep fit. Some of the routines are a little complicated at first but get easier the more you do it.
Only buy this dvd if u love camp men, and dancing, its not for you if u can't follow routines. I would say this suits the younger generation.
