A month-by-month diary of the life of BBC2’s popular new gardener.

About the Author
Christine has been a horticulturist since the age of 10 when she first obtained an allotment and started growing vegetables and flowers, which she sold to her school teachers and local residents. Today she is a freelance plantswoman, lecturing nationally and internationally, leading field trips throughout the world. Her first TV show, Christine's Garden, was shown on BBC2 in winter 2006 and found an enthusiasm for a gentler way of life. Since then she has become a columnist for Amateur Gardening and Garden News.

Like the TV series? You'll love the book!5
The TV series Christines Garden is a brilliant way to unwind on a Friday night after a hard weeks work stuck in the office. The eccentric and loveable Christine brings so much enthusiasm and passion to this series all about her life, her garden, and her horticultural career.

As soon as I heard Chrsitine had written a book to accompany the series, I rushed out to order my copy. I read the book in just 2 days as it was too good to put down! I was worried the book wouldn't be able to get across her enthusiasm and passion for the garden, in the way that the series too, but I needn't have been concerned at all. You can hear Christines voice as you read her day to day account of her year, in the form of a diary.

Plenty of mentions for her adorable neighbour, Reg. What an absolute darling he is! It's amazing how much Christine crams in to her year, and it's a pleasure to read.

Believe me, once you start, you won't put it down!

Fantastic Insight into Christine's Interesting Life!5
I am a massive fan of Christine's Garden, I love the TV show so much and I had to buy this book the second it came out. I echo christine's sentiments on getting hooked on gardening from an early age, I too pestered my parents into allowing me to grow seeds on my bedroom windowsill and then advancing to looking after a little flower bed of my own in the garden.

This book is a great companion to the Friday night TV show, it reads as a diary and has a fabulously intricate and enlightening introduction. Christine has such passion for gardening and life in general and I find her enthusiasm infectious and to be quite honest if there were more people in this world that had Christine's outlook on life, we would all live in peace on this planet of ours.....

Christine and not forgetting dear Reg, you are an inspiration to me and I feel honoured to be able to share in your life through this brilliant book and your TV programme. Even if you are not an avid gardener, still give this book a try, its a tonic for life and Christine is such an interesting character and her adventures both at home, with Reg and Louise and further afield will keep you hooked and page turning into the night!

Thanks again Christine, you are a very special person and thank you for allowing us into your life.

An excellent read5
