Comprehensive4
This comprehensive guide tells you all you need to know about podcasting, from how to buy a microphone to the technicalities of RSS feeds to how to listen to them in the first place. It’s written in familiar Dummies American chatterbox style, which will annoy some, and contains endless sci-fi references, which will annoy others. Nevertheless, it contains tons of very practical advice. At over 300 pages it covers all the necessary subjects and more, including how to fish for listeners. It’s excellent for beginners, and will prove a useful reference tool for those already podcasting. It’s particularly strong on how to make good quality programmes, which is important. It’s also Mac and open-source friendly. I’ve not read other podcasting books to compare it to.

The Place to Start5
I have read many books on podcasting and this book, Podcasting for Dummies, is the one everyone considering trying their hand at podcasting should read first. It is the bible for beginners and also, importantly, has much to interest the experience podcaster. A great buy. Strongly recommended!
