Why these are good books!
The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Buy new: £3.95 / Used from: £2.65
The first of the millenium trilogy. Fast paced mystery with excellent characters who are well developed. Being set in Sweden gives it an edge that is lacking in other books from the genre.
The Girl Who Played with FireThe Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
Buy new: £3.95 / Used from: £2.99
The sequel and very much it's equal if not surpassing the original due to it's focus on the main character. The ending sets it up enthusiastically for the final installment due October.
The Luminous Life of Lilly AphroditeThe Luminous Life of Lilly Aphrodite by Beatrice Colin
Buy new: £4.76 / Used from: £0.05
Engaging and beautifully written. Recommended if you enjoy the Paulinna Simmons Bronze Horseman books - although it's a much shorter and quicker read.
The 19th WifeThe 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
Buy new: £4.80 / Used from: £0.01
Interesting topic - polygamy. The dual narrative makes it more effective. Try it if you enjoy historical fiction and/or thought provoking books like Picoult.
Change of HeartChange of Heart by Jodi Picoult
Buy new: £4.33 / Used from: £0.01
I enjoy all Jodi Picoult's novels and this is one of her most recent. Similarities to The Green Mile but still asks the reader hard questions of themselves.
The HostThe Host by Stephenie Meyer
Buy new: £3.82 / Used from: £1.33
Much better than I thought it would be. Bought it due to hype surrounding the author and found it quite a page turner. Interesting concept with a believable love story entwined.
PassionPassion by Louise Bagshawe
Buy new: £4.02 / Used from: £0.01
Not your usual chick lit holiday bonkbuster (although it's got those ingredients too). Storyline is exciting enough to keep you reading. Dan Brown for girls??
