Product Description

The Rough Guide Map of Marrakesh is the only map available to the entire city. From the labryinth of the souks to the inner-city gardens, this map makes navigating your way round a realistic possibility for the first time. The Rough Guide map pin-points the best the city has to offer, from restaurants, hamaam's, shops and cafes. The useful 'Time Map' will save a wasted trudge to a closed museum or attraction by charting the times and days of opening of all the city's sights. The map's detailed transport information and clear layout will help you make the most of the buses, trains and taxis which serve the city.

Absolutely invaluable5
Anyone who has ever been to the Marrakech Medina will know that street signs by and large don't exist and that many of the places you want to get to are down a range of alleyways.

As a result, mapping out the Medina is a huge undertaking, but Rough Guides have done it, and done it successfully. By listing each of the hundreds of restaurants and Riads on the Medina streets, you are effectively given a sign-post of where you need to go.

By using the map we never got lost once and even managed to get to Richard and Sophie Neat's destination restaurant / Riad, "Casa Lalla" under our own steam, where we had previously been warned we would need to pay someone to take us there.

Highly recommended and will definitely be using it on my next trip over there.

ESSENTIAL - Don't go to Marrakesh without it !5
This map is great - very detailed and reliable. The owner of the Riad we stayed in said 'Very good Map' and that is from a local who knows her way around. We saw many tourist struggling with other maps and many of them resorted to paying the local street urchins to give directions ... not a good idea as inevitably you go via their cousins tannery.

The map itself is waterproof and we ended up folding it many ways, stuffing it into bags etc and it's still looking good. The card cover has an 'easy peel' strip so you can remove it from the map and re-attach it when you want to re-pack it properly.

I purchased this map and the Lonely Planet guide from Amazon and would reccommend both - the map inside the Lonely planet guide is not much use for navigating your own way around Marrakesh.

If you are going to Marrakesh - Buy This Map!!5
This is the only map we found that showed the detail you need to successfully navigate your way around the city, in particular the Medina/Souks. The local tourist maps and the ones you get in guide books come nowhere close!

The detail on this map is fantastic and meant we could enjoy touring the city and seeing the sights (which are all well marked on the map) rather than keep asking for directions (which you get charged for a lot of the time!)

At first I thought this was expensive for a map of a city, but after visiting I would have payed ten times the price for it!
