Sharp EL 531 WB + An Equation = Solved Equations
I bought this as it looks very nice. After having it sat on my desk for nearly 3 years, I decided to look up what a calculator does. To my utter suprise, they are used for calculations (you just don't get that from the product name, do you?). I have never stopped using it since, it is a fantastic piece of technology, must be state of the art. If the 21st century brings this, then maybe colour TV might be on its way!!

Ok, but...
A fine beast, especially for the neat way in which fractions are handled - but the logic calculations are seriously messed up.
Eg. 2nd func/HEX, enter FFF+1=1000 then 2nd func/BIN gives a calculation error.
Or, 2nd func/BIN and entering 1111111111 (that's 10 ones - apparently the maximum permissible for direct entry) then 2nd func/HEX gives FFFFFFFFFF (10 F's) - well, duh; the correct answer is 3FF.
Attempting to convert 3FF to binary, which I would expect to at least give the same incorrect answer - simply reports a calculation error instead.

BRILLIANT!!
Can't Complain at all.
The Calculator does the job that I want it to do...
