Easy peasy4
The first thing to say about this book is that the diet does work and it is no trouble at all; in fact we never felt hungry once and did not suffer from the awful side effects of those 'low carb' diets. My husband is on the diet but I eat the same evening meal and have taken some tips for my lunch too. Fortunately I have not lost weight but he has lost loads without seeming to be much effort at all.

Most of the recipes are delicious which is wonderful because we were getting very unadventurous in our cooking habits. The down side is that some take more time than I would like to cook but the effort is worth it and each recipe gets faster as you become familiar with it.

On the down side, some of the instructions are rather unclear so you have to guess a bit and there is no consistency with how many a recipe is for. For example one recipe will server 4-6 people whereas another will serve 3 and another 2. You have to be on the ball and recalculating all the quantities is annoying.

But like I said, the main thing is that it works and it is easy. Oh and I forgot to point out that it is very healthy; lots of salad and veg. And lovely grub!!

The Gi Diet Clinic: Rick Gallop's 13 Week Plan for Permanent Weight Loss3
If you don't own any "diet" books, then this is a fairly decent choice to make. However, the Gi Diet is yet another plan which is making the author very rich for basically telling us all what we know already: eat healthily, make good food choices, reduce intake of "bad" foods, and take regular exercise.
Gallop will introduce you to the concept of the Glycemic Index, and how your food can impact your blood sugar. But it is essentially a lesson of logic and sense.
That said, this plan is easy, the recipes are tasty, and if you are dedicated to the cause it will work.

I will say this: many, if not all, of the recipes in this book can be found on the various Gi diet websites out there.
