Product Description

The Journey is a simple, revolutionary set of techniques that has freed thousands from lifelong emotional and physical blocks -- from addiction, depression and low self-esteem to chronic pain and illness. The Journey was born of Brandon Bays' extraordinary experience of healing from a football-sized tumour, without drugs or surgery, in 6 weeks. Forced to go beyond the limits of known alternative therapies (she had been working in mind/body healing for two decades) she was catapulted into a remarkable, soul searching and ultimately ground-breaking healing journey. She pioneered a remarkable healing technique that guides us directly to the root cause of a longstanding difficulty-- emotional or physical--and then gives us the tools to resolve it. At the most sophisticated nexus of mind-body healing today, the Journey offers a simple imaginative process that is a revolutionary way to actually access memories held in specific parts of the body, bringing the latest findings of energy medicine into a fast, effective technique that anyone from a child to a CEO can use.

Amazon.co.uk Review
In 1992, Californian Mind/Body expert Brandon Bays, Chief Trainer to uber-guru Anthony Robbins for many years, appearing on stage with the likes of Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer, discovered she had the tumour the size of a football in her stomach. She underwent an emotional healing journey, trying to uncover the emotional root of what she believed was causing the disease in her body. Six and half weeks later, she was pronounced text-book perfect--no drugs, no surgery, no tumour. Hailed at the next Louise Hay, Bays documents in her first book The Journey, her roller-coaster, knuckle-whitening ride through her healing and beyond. If getting a tumour wasn't bad enough, her daughter tells her she doesn't want anything more to do with her, her husband leaves her for another woman and her house is burnt to the ground. You couldn't make it up! The Journey is a spiritual guide to discovering the best part of yourself with a step-by-step, practical script which shows you how to let go of lifelong emotional and physical blocks. Combine this with Bays' personal story, which has all the pace and drama of a block-busting film, and it's a total winner. Unputdownable. Seatbelts on and prepare to travel on your own personal journey.

Review
An ebullient first-person account of an alternative healing experience that includes step-by-step do-it-yourself instructions. In 1992, Bays, then a trainer and seminar leader for the exuberant self-improvement promoter Tony Robbins, was diagnosed with a large uterine tumor, which she believes she made vanish through a self-healing process. She subscribed to Deepak Chopra's belief that emotional memories are stored in the body's cells, and she set about finding out what unresolved emotional memories were causing her tumor. She quickly arranged for a "simple neuro-linguistic mind-body healing process," followed by "some good massage bodywork," "cranial-visceral" massage therapy, colon therapy, meditation, and more therapeutic massage-all while following a strict fresh-fruit-and-raw-vegetable diet. Guided by a massage therapist, she took an imaginary journey to her tumor and confronted the bad memories stored there. Within weeks the tumor was no longer detectable. Bays, who favors terms like "vibrancy" and "boundless joy," concluded that she had discovered a way to "have a sustained direct experience of the infinite intelligence, Source," and that she must now show others how to take a healing journey to their own Source, a.k.a. "soul" or "inner awareness," to become free of emotional and physical blockages. She's recently been offering two-day workshops in the process, which she calls Journeywork. Here, she not only describes her own experience and the remarkable outcomes of others she has guided on internal journeys but describes just how to do it with a good friend's help in the privacy of one's home. For Bays at least, the side effects have been beneficial: when, in rapid succession, her house burned down, her husband left her, the IRS pursued her, and her daughter announced she wanted no further contact with her, the positive-thinking Bays was able to see it all as "somehow a gift from God." Mind-body healing and New Age spiritualism, delivered with unremitting enthusiasm. (Kirkus Reviews)

A remarkable book from a remarkable woman5
A sceptic at first - how can one cure herself of cancer just by using a technique that involved no medical intervention. However as I quickly realised, a lot of things that Brandon says in her book made a lot of sense. She has hit the nail on the head with regards to the meaning of life and happiness by accessing your soul. She describes in detail how to undergo emotional and physical journeys. These are techniques which help release past hurts stored inside your body. I have recently had the privilege of attending one of her weekend seminars and I have noticed the remarkable effect undergoing these journeys have had on me. I feel much lighter, freer and happier. I let go an old hurt that had been affecting my life, it will no longer do so. The techniques are very powerful but also very safe as there is nothing to fear. This book is highly recommended, I guarantee it will change the way you view your life.

just what I was looking for5
I have been following a course of personal development for quite few years now and feel that I was still missing something--this book took me to the deeper level I was looking for--perhaps being in excruiating pain with degenerative disc disease for the last year made the experiences in the book more relative. If, after years of therapy, and personal searches you are still not making much progress, this is the book for you.

Reads like a novel, but ultimately didn't help me.3
I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. It is very fluent, warm and inspiring. For that, I would cetainly recommend it. I had very high hopes for what the book promised, however, I am disappointed to say, that it did nothing for me. I really wanted it to, but it didn't!

Even if it had worked, I would still point out to anyone who's about to emark on this 'journey', you can't do it alone. The book contains scripts and worksheets at the back for the 'Journey' process, but you need someone else, who you trust and who's read the book as well, to guide you through it.

This doesn't seem to be a problem as there's a 'Journey' CD available, with Brandon herself guiding you through. So, I decided to buy the CD. I have tried and tried with it, but end up feeling frustrated because, the simple truth is, I don't really understand how it can work. There's no hypnosis involved, all you are supposed to do is start with an emotion and 'drop through it' and then drop through the next emotion, as if layers of an onion. At some point, you may have a situation involving other people attatched to certain emotions. At a later point, you address this issue by a 'camp fire' in your imagination. Before you get to the camp fire, you are supposed to continue 'dropping through the layers' until you get to what Brandon calls 'Source'. I never got to this point and even though it's best explained as possible, I still don't really understand it. What I've just explained is part of the 'Emotional Journey'.

What I was really interested in, was the 'Physical Journey' as I've had a chronic illness for the past 6 years. In the book, Brandon describes how she dissolved a very large cancerous tumour. I believe she did this, and she used her experience to pioneer the 'Journey'. I was hoping that this book would help me cure my illness. Unfortunately, after several goes of the CD, I was still seriously ill. The best progress I've made with my illness is using a combination of ideas expresed in other books. Positve thinking and meditation.

I still whole heartedly recommend this book as a good read, but would warn that it may not work for everyone.

Good luck.
