Really good...
I have to say that this book is very rich in information. It covers and variety of subjects such as hard-surface modeling, MEL scripting, shader writing (mentalray), mental ray light shaders and camera lens shaders and so on. I haven't been through it yet as it has more than 1000 pages. I am not giving it a 5-star rating because I would have preferred the images to be in full color, not BW. However, does offer a wealth of information and while Autodesk MAYA is still at 2009, I highly recommend getting the book. However, this book is really not for the beginner so if you are one, get something else like a foundation book and the build upon that.
