Prepare to be Annihilated
Before you buy this, and I recommend that you do! You should read as much as you can from the Infinity series, which in some senses leads up to the Annihilation event.

Namely the stuff collected in, it makes ALOT of sense to read this in order - (please note: an excellent present for any who reads comics :D)

This is Book 1 of the Annihilation Wave story arc where Annihilus attempts to take over the universe. Don't be put off by Annihilus' presence! I'm sure you have seen Annihilus getting whipped by the Fantastic Four time and time again, this time, however he is playing for keeps.

The first book opens contains Drax the Destroyer #1-4, Annihilation Prologue and Annihilation: Nova #1-4. It starts of slowly, but once you get an understanding for what is happeing. Whoa!!!

This, Annihilation Wave story, is best thing I've read from Marvel in decades and nods its head to the other great story, the Infinity Gaunlet arc by Jim Starlin in the early 1990s.

While the new "Utimate" branded titles are a decent re-telling of some classic stories, this is much more and shakes the Marvel Universe to its foundations (unlike the rather tame Civil War saga). Starring the most powerful characters in Marvel. Annihilus, Drax, Ronan, The Silver Surfer (+ all the other heralds) Galactus, Thanos, Nova, and many many more.

Best of all there is no Fantastic Four, no x-Men, and no Avengers. It's almost pure Sci-Fi told within the Marvel Universe framework.

Get Book 2 Annihilation Book 2 TPB: Bk. 2 (Annihilation) and Book 3 Annihilation Book 3 TPB: Bk. 3 (Annihilation) and settle down for an awesome experience.

Annhilation - First Compilation
I think thats a great compilation starting with a good introdution, and presenting some characters that are not seen alot in this times like Drax an Nova.
Its a good reading for the fans of marvel universe, and i say buy it :)
