Viking Cycles first established in Wolverhampton in 1908 the Viking brand has a history, rich in the tradition of top quality road bikes and throughout the century. Quality, style and durability have always been the hallmarks of Viking cycles. Todays Vikings embody those core qualities and look to widen the range to suit the ever increasing demands of changing lifestyles. For 2009 the range includes: Road, Trekking, Comfort, Tandems, Urban Sport and City Folders. No longer produced in Wolverhampton, each model now utilizes the technical developments of todays manufacturing processes and lightweight tubing. The Downtown takes a little from tradition with an upright riding position three and speed Sturmey Archer gears, then adds the convenience of modern V brakes and lightweight alloy rims. Always a willing partner whether it's an occasional jaunt to the shops or your daily commute, the Downtown comes equipped to meet your needs with full mudguards, rear rack, kick stand and a comfort saddle.

Customer Reviews
Good Bicycle overall
This is a good bicycle in terms of quality-price.
It is very functional and excellent for the city or for a student in university.
However there is room for improvement:
1) there are no allen keys or screwdrivers that come with the bicycle, so if you are a student ordering this bicycle be aware of this! You will have to spend more money on tools.
2) Whether you like it or not you will need tools because the brakes may become a bit loose at the beginning, the handle bar also becomes loose from time to time and if you are riding on a road which has bumps the vibration tends to unscrew the front mudprotector.
Apart from that this bicycle is ideal for a student at university, if you are looking for something more robust or you have a better budget look somewhere else.
