![]() | 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
Buy new: £2.36 / Used from: £0.65 Seriously impressed with this book at the age of 16, the film, and everything about it! I never really liked any of Clarke's other books, though, from what I recall.
![]() | The Pleasures of Deception by Norman Moss

![]() | Dune by Frank Herbert
Buy new: £5.99 / Used from: £0.01 I suspect I would still enjoy this book if I read it today. It's one of those few books that is so densely packed with material you could read it dozens of times and still get something out of it.
![]() | Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein
Buy used from: £0.47 Heinlein was a real mystery to me: I either detested his books, or absolutely adored them, and this definitely fell in the latter camp. Loved every page of it!
![]() | The Book Of Skulls (S.F. Masterworks) by Robert Silverberg
Buy new: £2.39 / Used from: £0.12 By my late teens I'd turned my back on the Asimov's of this world and was a committed Silverberg and Dick man. The Book of Skulls I just had to finish, had to read every page, then read it again!

Buy used from: £0.17 Silverberg's second classic book after Skulls. Equally brilliant, and lapped up in one beautiful day of my life!
