Better perfomance
The shorts - like the tights and tops - are marketed to improve circulation and hasten the removal of lactic acid. Whilst that might be true of the long tights, this is a little hard to believe for the shorts as they come just above the knee. However, I can see a role for supporting the quads, glutes and hamstrings, also keeping them at reasonable temperature. Although they are made of the same material as the long tights, they feel as though they have greater compression across the quads and hamstrings.

I bought a pair of Skins shorts - I already have Skins long tights, recovery tights, and top - after my quad and lower back tightened up during a run whilst I was wearing the usual type of shorts. I wore the Skins shorts three days later on my lunchtime 2.5 mile loop; it was 30 seconds quicker with the same perceived effort and heartrate and, no tightness. Placebo or coincidence? Maybe. Am I happy that I bought them? You bet!

Fantastic!
My son wears these for rugby under his shorts and they are reported to be very comfortable. They are a great length coming just above the knee and don't seem to ride up like his old undershorts. Fairly expensive but they seem well made and wash well. I don't know if they really do anything for lactic acid etc but he keeps scoring tries!
