Customer Reviews
mainly not Fred
This is not so much Fred talking about the things he loved; it is people talking about Fred talking!
It is not devoid of interest but if you have ( or intend to acquire ) Fred's other series, there is no need to get this one.
Samples of Fred's broadcasts (often infuriatingly shorn of their original context) are slipped in between 'experts' telling us what a great contribution he made. The viewer sometimes feels that the 'Fred footage' is only there to justify some pundit rambling on about it.
Save your money and buy something from Fred's original output. I have only myself to blame - I should have examined the description far more carefully.
This is a growing tendency - recycling old material ( and abridged material at that!) with superficial commentary and presenting it as a new production.
