Synopsis
Shiver me timbers, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp--Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ed Wood) returns in this rip-roaring, sea-faring sequel to the colossal hit, Curse of the Black Pearl. Reunited with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom--Kingdom of Heaven, Troy) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley--Pride and Prejudice, Domino), Sparrow must face his greatest adversary yet – the nautically naughty Davey Jones (Bill Nighy--Love Actually, The Girl in the Cafe). Directed by Gore Verbinski (The Ring, Mouse Hunt, Dead Man's Chest) is every bit as exciting as its predecessor and sets the scene for part three in the trilogy, At World's End.

Pirates - Dead mans chest4
Jack Sparrow races to recover the heart of Davy Jones to avoid enslaving his soul to Jones' service, as other friends and foes seek the heart for their own agenda as well.

My Favourite of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies5
If I were to have to say just one reason why I love the Pirates of the Caribbean it would have to be Johnny Depp! Why? Not so much that he is wonderfully handsome but the character he plays just cracks me up all the way through. His facial expressions and mannerisms are nothing short of pure genius! Have you ever seen anyone run like that? I don't need to tell you the storyline as this has been done already. Old tentacle face, Davy Jones (played by the brilliantly versatile actor, Bill Nighy)is predictably excellent too - love the way he ends his sentences with emphasis. He got me at it for a while-a. Pure entertainment. This is my favourite of the three Pirates...movies.

Let-Down3
I'll probably be lynched for this heresy!... but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're a diehard fan of one of the actors, or just a special effects geek.
This film wanders around, without much of a plot, relying far too heavily on humour [!??] and special effects. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but want to, but it destroys relationships, with characters betraying one another instead of standing together.
Not a 'Feel Good' film, and not a PATCH on Pirates I, Curse of the Black Pearl.
