Product Description

The beer-fuelled book for blokes! The companion book to C4's new series which follows Britain's favourite badly behaved man and his best mate Richard Fox as they set up their own brewery and try to make a go of their laddish dreams. With this book they share their secrets to the truly important things in life: home-brewing, pub games, bloke jokes, anorak beer & pub trivia, drinking games that may or may not get you arrested, chat-up lines that may or may not get you slapped, beer recipes guaranteed to pull, where to find the best beer festivals and everything in between to make this a must have for every lad (or ladette's) shed library. Neil and Richard's wry sense of humour and beer credentials make this a hilarious and compulsive read whether in small sips or downed in one. Full of lists, factoids and quirky illustrations, this is the perfect gift for any beer fanatic.

Customer Reviews

surprisingly good4
I picked this up thinking it would do as a stocking filler for anyone keen on Morrissey or Men Behaving Badly. However, having had a good look through I'd say that this book has enough bar jokes and anecdotes to satisfy the men behaving fans but also has a number of really good brewing recipes and beer tips to genuinely interest amateur beer brewers and enthusiasts. Overall, a very good read.

Made a great gift4
I bought this for a gift for a beer loving drinker and he really enjoyed the book whilst drinking a pint!

Utter Tripe1
This book, like the TV show, suggests that this pair know very little about their chosen subject.

The content is very thin, any half-wit could have garnered this information from a quick skim through a few relevant editions down at the local library, & then padded it out with typical, typecast naughty schoolboy humour (at its most obvious base - farting, spewing, etc.) Unfortunately the vast majority of (info'?) in this book is more of the shallow, "funny" stuff, and less of any real, genuine interest. There is absolutely nothing new here.

These guys completely miss their desired demographic, that is unless it was aimed at schoolboys who, being too young to drink (legally), their desired brew would most likely be cheap tinned lager or cider, as it's common knowledge that "ale" is for old men.
