Travelling troubadour, James Twyman, goes where peace needs to take seed and love needs to replace fear. As you read these pages, you can discover inner peace by making personal the release of fear. In the late 1990's, Twyman travelled to Bosnia to sing a peace concert. While there, he was led to a mystical community known as the Emissaries of Light, an ancient society whose purpose is to anchor peace where peace has been all but forgotten. He had a life-changing experience when the emissaries invited him to join in their meditations and learn their ways of transmuting fear into love.Twyman's work is not linked to one ethnicity, one politics, one culture or one religion. His journey of peace and harmony, inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi, has taken him to every war-torn country. It has filled him with the personal journey to witness for peace and to help others do so even in harsh times and dangerous environments. In a new introduction written for this 10th anniversary edition, Twyman addresses the cloud of wonderment and suspicion that has hung over "Emissary of Light" since it was first released.

Customer Reviews
Teacher's lessons are golden. Twyman's a little tarnished.
This story is sublime but the telling of it is hollow. This read like a report with a flimsy skeleton. I know several people who put the book down after reading a few pages and pronounced it boring. Too bad. Teacher's lessons are pearls, especially his first regarding fear. This book reveals the true meaning of the word "occult." Its gems are hidden but worth the dig.
Seek Not Peace Here, But Find It Everywhere...
I have for quite sometime been a student of A Course In Miracles, but have had little success in applying the lessons into my daily life. I have been searching for something that would place the lessons into a context that I could more easily understand. Emissary Of Light is just that. Although not an intentional guide to "The Course," it does play an integral part in Mr. Twyman's tale, which is told in a most approachable manner. There were many instances where I felt as if the characters within his story; Teacher in particular, were speaking directly to me. With every turn of the page, it was as if I were hearing another cosmic tumbler finally falling into place. "Seek not peace here, but find it everywhere." When the student is ready, the teacher will come. Thank you James Twyman.
Emissary of Light
This book disappointed me. I purchased this book having read the synopsis which indicated it was an autobiographical spiritual journey. It turned out to be a misrepresentation.....a simple figment of the authors (hallucinagenic?) imagination. It is all about Me, Me and Me! Mr. Twyman should stick to his forte ....singing his peace songs, for which he deserves his applause and recognition. As a self styled Guru he appears to be treading in the footsteps of other money making, egotistical, self styled spiritual leaders such as Sai Baba. My recommendation: Give the price of the book to your favourite charity!
