Superb piece of kit!.
This circular saw is just brilliant!. It's powerful enough to do most jobs, but lacks the power whereby the novice user can't do any serious damage to themselves, for example, should the blade snatch. It's quiet in operation and replacement blades are cheap to buy. Even with the battery pack, it is not heavy nor cumbersome. Fully featured angles, depths, plunge cuts, etc, are all on this machine. Well worth the money. Standard battery gives about an hour's worth of work, so you will need additional batteries or the new but pricey Li-On battery pack. For the home DIYer, this is great. Even for some Pro's for emergency use off site or the occasional job where there is no mains power. I actually prefer this DC model to the more powerful AC model. To cap it all, this machine will not win wars, but it will win many battles. Review update: I am now using this machine with the Li-On battery pack, and what a difference it makes!. Standard battery (Ni-Cd) is rated at 1.7Ah, but the new Li-On is rated at 2.4Ah. Much more power and constant speed, much lighter and battery life greatly extended between charges. Not a cheap power pack, as you can buy nearly three Ni-Cd batteries for the same price as the Li-On, but then why carry around three Ni-Cd's when one Li-On will do the same job. Also no issues with the new Li-On losing its' charge once it has been charged, unlike the standard batteries. It's like having mains power in a portable machine. If you already have this saw with the standard batteries, consider the upgrade. If you are thinking of buying this saw, consider going for the Lithium Ion power pack and charger.

Circular saw
A well engineered and designed product. Safe and clean cuts. I am using this saw with the standard ni-cad batteries as I now have four Ryobi One products. I think the newer,more expensive batteries would give more power and longer use between charges - this, however, is fine for general use if you haven't got too much to do. Good product.
