U.S. Slant Not Helpful to British Investors
This is a book packed with information but unfortunately is a struggle for the new investor for two reasons: firstly the details given refer to the U.S. stock exchange and secondly many of the terms used have different meanings in the British finance system (try Googling the words to see what I mean). Even when they mean the same thing the author does not spend sufficient time defining them fully. Possibly a good book to read after aquainting yourself with the U.K. stock exchange first.

Superb
Don't even think of not getting this book! It would be worth the money ten times over just for the resources he mentions. For a novice investor he gives an excellent bird's eye view of what to look for and how to go about investing. I cannot recommend this too highly.

This should be the first two investing books that you buy.
I can not recommend this book enough! I have a stack of half-read financial books on my coffee table but my copy of The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing has been read, reread and consistently used for reference and stock comparison. Because I haven't let it out off my sight this last month I purchased multiple copies to let members of my investment club read. Everyone that has read any part of the book has very positive feedback and a clear knowledge of the subject covered. I believe any one of the seven information packed chapters is worth the price of the book. For investment clubs this is guide that will get things moving in the right direction. For people like me with mixed results from other books this is a find. For those that have not bought their first book about investing in the stock market this book should be the first two books that you buy, you'll want to share it but you won't want to be without it.
