Customer Reviews
Excellent
It is the first books that I read on technical analysis. It is one of the most important books in the field of T.A. It is very clear and concise. It would be the first book that I would recommend anyone reads. It is essential.
Essential viewing
Anyone involved in the markets, on any time scale, will verify the fundamental need for Technical Analysis in making trading/investment decisions.
Many publications diversify into (very) esoteric theories about T.A., which may or may not be profitable, according to the individuals application.
I have found this book to be clear and concise, explaining the underlying concepts of T.A. in a way that anyone approaching the markets, cash in hand, needs to read to be "grounded" and enabling the reader to further study any given method of choice.
The term "Bible" has been used for this book, I would say for myself, that along with Nison's "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques" and Bulkowski's "Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns" this book is a constant reference source which needs re-reading and keeping on the desk.
John J Murphy, Technical Analysis of The Financial Mrkts
This is truly excellent book. Suitable for the beginner and the experienced trader. It has been described as the bible, i would not disagree at the very least it is the "first" book that any aspiring trader should read.
Written in a very easy to digest fashion with a very sensible progression, the reader can not only learn techniques, but get a basic outline of all major TA techniques, from which one may decide on a more detailed course of reading that would have otherwise not been possible.
It is a must buy with the "Study Guide" as this gives one the chance to test your command of the subject matter.
