No problems
I bought this to use as a time machine backup drive and it works beautifully. Stupidly easy to setup and has run for 6 months without any problems. I also have a LaCie HD (which I back up onto the iomega) and that is a nightmare. So noisy, it hasn't crashed yet but I'm sure it is only a matter of time. I am replacing that with a new iomega.
Minimax 1TB, just the job
I already have a 500GB version of this hard disk and purchased some more capacity with the 1TB version. As a Mac user it comes pre-formatted, so it worked perfectly straight out of the box. However, you do need to reformat if you want to use it for a PC or both Mac and PC. Anyway, the light on the front is a nice touch.
Failed on the second day
This drive looks good and sounds good on paper. I bought this from the Apple store. On the plus side it has really fast and easy installation for Macs - plug and play. Used as a back up drive for Time Machine on my iMac. All good till the second day when the drive simply does not mount on the iMac. I tried also on my PC - does not show there either. Tried all the different troubleshooting tips on IOmega website (not that many) but still no luck. Checked advise on the internet - the drive still does not want to mount, or to show in Disk Utility, so I will be returning it and replacing it for a different brand.
I would not recommend this product at all. Do not waste your time with it.
