I use this E-SATA HDD as an external drive for my Pioneer 940 HDD/DVD recorder that only has an E-SATA socket for external HDD and have had no problems at all, E-SATA in this set up does not seem to be faster than USB and is NOT PLUG-AND-PLAY and you CAN'T USE A HUB so it is not as convenient as USB and is dearer! so stick to USB external HDD if you can.

Worked as expected. The eSATA interface works considerably faster than USB, saving a lot of time on my full system Acronis backup process.

Haven't got it (yet), but PCPro October think well of it. Usb was described as 'superfast', and tests showed transfer rates using eSATA between 2x and 4x faster than usb.
