Shake your groove thing.

Sometimes, we could all use a little unpredictability. And now you can shake to shuffle your music. Just give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You’ll always be surprised by what you’ll hear.

Rock and roll over.

Tilt or turn iPod nano on its side, and you’ll listen, watch, and play in new ways. You can flip through your album art with Cover Flow. Or, vertically speaking, see more albums and artists on the screen at one time.

New games made for the new nano

Let the games begin.

Now you can get in on games made especially for iPod nano and the accelerometer. They respond to the way you move, so they’re immersive, addictive, and a blast. iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store.

16gb purple5
This nano has had some vast improvements from the first generation all those years back. The screen has enlarged, and is very good. The colours and clarity is exceptional for something this small. It is a lot thinner, less than 1cm, and has a nice curved shape. It has a new feature not before seen on the nano, let alone any ipod, and this is a shaking the ipod to change track. The genius software is very good and I find very useful and selects suitable matches for my music library. Also, new with this generation is the accelerometer built in. This allows you to turn the ipod on its side to watch video. The price is very good, but is still expensive for its capacity. However, this is made up for in superb free software that is very easy to use and master. Also, this is by far, the most accessory orrientated MP3/4 player. However saying this; some of the new generation ipods including this one don't work on old docking stations. You may want to be aware of this if you intend to use old accesories.

A pleasure to use5
I've just acquired this to replace my old 8Gb nano. The new one is much more attractive with an excellent colour screen - you find yourself looking at the covers and browsing more. The main reason I bought it was to get the larger memory - I wanted to get my whole music collection on it.

The cover flow is attractive although I must admit to not having used it much yet. Some reviewers have complained about the fact that the ipod goes to cover flow when put on its side - potentially an inconvenience if travelling. But I have switched this feature off.

Volume seems to be limited to a lower level than the old nano - but I can get it loud enough to hear comfortably while walking around London streets. I'd say sound quality is marginally better than the old one - more even across the range. I don't use the Apple headphones and currently have some Sony in-ear headphones which produce a very good sound overall.

Amazing but Change the "Auto Syncing" before you Start!!5
New Apple iPod nano 16GB - Purple

I Just got this for xmas and is absolutley amazing!! i previously owned an mp3 player which could only hold about 180 songs and got fed up with changing the selection every time so decided on an ipod as heard so many good things about them!
You won't go far wrong with apple's ipod nano, you can choose from i think 8 different colours and on the capacity of either 8gb or 16gb.

I have a big album collection so i wanted to be able to put at least 200+ albums on my NEW ipod and a bit more using the other features.

There are other great features on the nano like shake to shuffle, genius mode, view album covers, view photos, download films to buy/rent,buy music videos, and games etc! i won't go into too much about the details as you will find more details on apple's home page.

So to the ipod set up it is fairly straight forward to set up,and comes with all the leads & headphones etc to get you going, but the instructions included are very basic and has no troubleshooting guide and the like which i needed on the set up(you can go on apple's homepage and download their manuals for any ipod though)Even though this is an amazing bit of technolgy i did find a few personal negative issues.

As a person i wanted complete control on managing my music myself like i did with my previous music player however........ i found once i got pass the inital set up with itunes and started importing my albums on my ipod i got as far as putting about 400 tracks on my ipod initially and then a bit later i imported some more but when i checked to see what i had put on my ipod at that point in total i had noticed all my previous 400 tracks had gone!!!!

It would seem everytime you put songs on your ipod it will automatically replace the previous ones with new ones, well this was no good to me as still had many more to put on so i had just wasted hours & hours of my personal time putting music on my ipod for nothing!!

I managed to work out how to solve this problem and that is when you connect your ipod to your pc/itunes select the ipod icon on the left and select summary there you will find a check box near the bottom if you want to manage you music yourself you need to uncheck the "sync automatically" box and select "manage music manually" once you have done this you are in complete control and you can at your leisure add music to your ipod without the worry of losing anything like i did.By doing it this way you will need to drag the tracks/albums you want over to the ipod icon manually (at least you will know what you are putting on your ipod)you will see at the top of the itunes page the tracks importing/updating onto your ipod.

This will take a bit longer than auto syncing but at least you'll be in complete control!!

I felt i should mention this as i am sure there are many people like me who prefers to manage there music like this as i found the other way you don't know what has gone on your ipod and what hasn't,also if you have other people in the house who have ipods you will find using the "auto syncing" your ipod may end up with there music on it aswell without you knowing it.

SO REMEMBER TO DO THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU START PUTTING MUSIC ON YOUR IPOD!!

Other than this it is a great ipod forget the other types on the market this is the very best!!!
