Manufacturer's Description
Now that you can buy movies from the iTunes Store and sync them to your iPod, the whole world is your theatre. With a 30GB iPod in hand, those movies fit comfortably next to TV shows, new iPod games, podcasts, audiobooks, photo albums, and, of course, an entire library of music — up to 7,500 songs, in fact. iPod is a pocket-size prodigy.
Watch this space
How much can your pocket hold? That’s up to you and your iPod. It holds up to 7,500 songs, up to 9,375 photos, and up to 37.5 hours of video — or any combination of each.(1) So you can browse movies on the iTunes Store, download the ones you want, then sync it to your iPod. Same goes for TV episodes, new iPod games, songs, best-selling audiobooks, and an entire universe of free podcasts. Go ahead. Fill ’er up.
Suit yourself
From cases to car kits, customise your iPod with accessories made especially for it. Pick up an iPod Universal Dock for more convenient syncing. Add an iPod Hi-Fi for room-filling sound. Sync photos on the go with an iPod Camera Connector. Attach a voice recorder to take audio notes.
Play all day
With all that music at your fingertips, you may never want to stop listening. Lucky thing your iPod plays audio for up to 14 hours.(2) Or, if you’d rather watch, you can feast your eyes on movies and TV shows for up to three-and-a-half hours.(3)
Pack light
It might be a miracle. Otherwise, it’s hard to explain exactly how 30GB of storage(4) can fit into an iPod that’s over 30% thinner than the previous fourth generation. However it happened, it means you can carry your entire music collection — plus a nice selection of video — absolutely everywhere you go. And a 60% brighter, more vibrant display gives your album art, photos, and video extra oomph.
Search and enjoy
Finding what you want to hear among 7,500 songs could be quite a chore — unless you have an iPod. A new interface lets you search your iPod using the patented Click Wheel. And if you’re a fan of live albums, classical works, or anything that sounds best when it’s continuous, iPod supports gapless playback that seamlessly transitions from one song to another.

iPod
Well...
having recieved a sizeable amount of birthday money, i decided that this is what I wanted.
After reading the many mixed reviews, I went for it. Went for the express delivery (why not?!) If your thinking of going for first class, its only £2 more and you get it quicker!
I used to have a 1st Generation Nano in White. I liked it but i wanted the video playback...badly!
I am extremely happy with this item!
One thing I have noticed is that the shiny back doesn't scratch as easily as the Nano 1st Gens.
People say the battey's not great, but even with video playback and frequent use, my iPod has lasted longer than the estimated 3.5 hours!
Also, I was worried that the videos I had ready to put on my iPod were the wrong format. You can get round this using conversion software. I used "Xilisoft Video Converter 3" and am very impressed with it. Only draw back is that it disables your internet connection but I just leave it converting in the day while I'm at school.
The image quality of videos is phenomenal. Like other reviewers have said, once you're watching something on it, you forget about the size of the screen and it's true, you do.
Also, I have noticed that the sound quality is better than that of the Nano. iTunes is exceptional software, I've been a user of it for about 18 months now and it's so easy.
Because the iPod is a bit vulnerable, get a case. I ordered the "MCA Snow Portofolio for iPod video" for £20 from apple.com/uk but it hasn't come yet so I can't really reccomend it as yet!
It's my second iPod and Apple never cease to amaze me with their technology.
I want an iMac now!!
Hope this helps!
ipod video
I can't really add much more to what is already known about the plus points of the ipod.
I purchased this model after being impressed with my wife's ipod nano but realised I needed extra disc space for the amount of podcasts I wanted to subscribe to. While equally as magnificant, I do find that the clickwheel seems less responsive and more awkward to use than the nano.
I would also recommend a protective case, as the front is very prone to getting scratched easily.
Easier than I thought to Use>>>>>
My first experience of IPOD was one with the 512mb Shuffles that came out last year. I wasn't impressed and couldn't understand the fuss. Bought a Creative Vision M and found it played everything I threw at it but wasn't quite the real deal. Sold it and bought one of these. Love it. Very easy to use, yeah it's alittle awkward with the formats. But haven't had any problems. Screen is excellent as is the audio. You do need to download latest Itunes but you'll probably have Broadband anyway so is quick and painless. Buy a skin or case for it, and also a wall charger. Job done. I would recommend one of these to anyone.
