Many of the forms and checklists, which are designed to be photocopied and used, are based on documents that I have developed over the years for my architectural practice, to explain to clients what information is needed at each step of a project. It is well-illustrated with many colour photographs of stylish houses to make the pages easy on the eye, as well as to offer design ideas and inspiration.

This will get you going
This is a really good book. For someone just getting to grips with selfbuild like myself, it seems to have a great deal of useful info without a lot of padding. The book structure follows through the whole process of design, planning, getting land and dealing with architects and contractors. (i.e. it is not about bricklaying / timber-frame building skills) Lots of useful checklists etc. and there are some really inspiring pictures.
