panini graphic novels.4
The latest offering from panini is a collection of Iron Man tales spanning 40+ years. Reprinted (on very good quality paper) are Tales of Suspense 39, (Iron Man's first appearance) Iron Man issues 99-100, 128, 131-133, 149-150, 200, 256 and vol.3 issue 30. The issues by David Michelinie Bob Layton and John Romita Jr. are outstanding and the others range from readable to quite enjoyable. The package as a whole is exellent value.

As a very big fan of iron man, it would eventually happen that i would buy this, despite my less than enthusiastic outlook on buying older stories.

I have to say that this book really has changed my mind. Even though the art i starting to look very dated, the actual plotlines are still very strong, and more relevant than ever. I have finally read the actual issue where stark faces alcoholism, rather than just hear about it in newer publications.

The origins story is what you expect, and have probably read a version of it at some point, but everything after that is fairly fresh if you happen to be born after most of it was written.

Id recommend this mainly to fans of iron man, as not many other heroes get much of a look in. If you dont like iron man then you probably wont be willing to put up with the 60's art. If you do then i say give this a try. Its full colour, on nice paper, and has a forward by stan lee and an interesting section about the suits in the back.
