Concise Oxford Paravia Italian Dictionary
Being fairly new to language learning I'm still finding my feet as to what is important and what information you need to have. There is a wealth of stuff out there and a danger of overload. I already had a dictionary and therefore I wondered if it would be worth my while getting this book. However, I must say that it's made a huge difference to me.
I find the dictionary particularly good because there is a very good selection of words such as "participles" and "phrases". This means that you're not left to guess what the meaning of a word is as you think you've translated it. The likelehood is that the very phrase that you want is there. I have found it very up to date and full of useful modern, colloquial phrases that I can use.
I also find it very clearly set out and easy to use. All in all well worth adding to my ever expanding Italian collection!

excellent quality, quite comprehensive and packed full of words. I particularly liked the technical notes and very extensive lists of expressions for verbs which can have varried meaning in english such as 'fare' and 'stare'.
An excellent dictionary.
This is a very useful dictionary which gives some examples of usage as well as translations of words. Easy to use. Small enough to carry in a bag (not pocket-sized though).
