A 007 Toy to Enjoy
Why would anyone by a digital camera whose overall megapixel rating is less than 1? Well, if the buyer happened to be a huge James Bond fan and was buying this item as both a Bond collectible and a novelty digi-cam, then the JB1 was for me. To be honest, had this camera not had the 007 association with it, I would not have given it a second glance, but that's the type of "bond-geek" I am. Now that we've addressed who is/should be buying the camera, let's turn our attention to the camera itself.

Powered by a AAA battery, this little camera has a lot of neat features, hi and low res photos, webcam, video and a James Bond mode, where you can have the camera take a series of photos over a pre-determined interval. A low-battery indicator, and a visual memory-remaining display allow the user to monitor internal photo storage and battery power. The camera is extremely light, as one might expect, and fits neatly inside its "Zippo" case. Digital dream also enclosed a cloth case for additional protection when carrying the JB1. For a tiny camera, the buttons for power and shutter are a good size and larger fingers can still work this camera with ease.

The camera is much better suited for bright light situations. Although advertised as not needing a flash (based on their snyc light technology), photos taken with ambient room lighting of 100 watts looked underexposed. Outdoor pictures taken looked beautiful.

The software package, which offers James Bond greeting cards, etc., is rather lame. The cards are 4 templates of varying color and poses. The photo editor is extremely simplistic. However, the ease of downloading pictures to a PC is fantastic. Digital Dream has even included a smaller CD with the download software to carry in a convienient pocket should you be traveling and wish to download to another PC other than your own. (Of course, be sure to have the special USB cord with you).

Digital Dream has a five-year warranty on the camera, which is a good indication that they're standing behind their product. Buyers registering their JB1 online will also receive an offer for 6 4x6 color photos that you upload and have printed for you.

Pros: Easy to use and a fun James Bond toy. Cons: James Bond fun software lacking, low light applications limited. Overall: a fun toy for a Bond fan.

Pretty lame
Yes, the camera is small. Unless you have an incredible for small camera's, give this one a big miss. The picture quality is not stunning, you can't see your picture until it's on the computer, which is a bit of hassle and the editing features are useless. It's difficult to function, and after one weekend of taking photos mine has randomly stopped working for no reason. Great way to waste 70 quid!
