A wonderful idea
There are legions of Jane Austen lovers all over the world who appreciate her novels and her unique literary style. Jane Austen was also a keen musician and copied out manuscripts by hand so that she had plenty to play from. Her letters, and those of her sister refer to her practising every morning. So, this CD is the nearest you're going to get to appreciating what it must have been like to sit in the front room at Chawton and listen to her playing the fortepiano. If she played half as well as Martin Souter, she was a seriously accomplished pianist. This is a wonderful CD, beautifully played on authentic instruments. A must for any Jane Austen lover, or student of Regency musical taste.
