The best analysis I have read
This is the first volume of a fantastic guide to the Lotus Sutra and it's application in daily life. It takes the form of a discussion between four eminent Buddhist scholars from the soka gakkai lay Buddhist organisation, who are followers of Nicherin Daishonin Buddhism. Of particular relevance to those who are interested in this particular Buddhist tradition, I thoroughly recommend this series of works as being accessible but sufficiently intellectually rigourous to give a thorough grounding in the Sutra.

(Of note to practicing buddhists only - Volume one examines the Lotus Sutra up to Chapter 3, and therefore includes the "Expedient Means" chapter which is recited during gongyo.)
