Product Description

The end result of an 18,000-person poll asking metal minions to list their favourite hard rock or heavy metal songs from the late '60s through to 2001, THE TOP 500 HEAVY METAL SONGS OF ALL TIME features interviews with the bands that made the final heavy grade, gathering their recollections of creating these classic tracks. Dozens of top rockers have also been polled, and their lists occur throughout the book along with shots of rare single covers for the songs in question, plus countless quotes from such greats as Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica and more.

Customer Reviews

Hail and Kill!!5
Tush and nonsense Popoff writes with a flair and wit unseen in the Metal media world. His succint views and accurate protrayals of the comprehensive run down of the top 500 Metal albums is a joy to read and behold!
You might not agree with the choice, extensively polled from thousands of voters, but this is a superb reference guide and covers just about all you could want in a Metal book.
If only other writers could pen as well as Popoff. It is plainly only pure ignorance that people have to belittle his talent for the written word.
This is a must buy!

Great list, shame about the author2
A fantastic idea and a great starting point for debate. The book really does cover the metal spectrum and there are certainly a few surprises in there. Unfortunately, the author must have been on some pharmaceutical bender when he wrote it. It is seldom I have read such a pretentious, unintelligible pile of drivel. I hardly understood a word of each synopsis. It did provide some entertainment with friends as we tried to guess which drug he must have been using when he wrote each review!

this book is rubbish1
why would you want to buy something like this?!?! dont you know what you like and what you don't? you really wanna buy a book of someone ELSE's opinions? especially someone who cannot write and is obsessed with himself, just like Popoff. he is someone who gives metal a bad name - avoid!!!!!
